Turn Down for Whales

A Marine Wildlife Spotting Site + Conservation Resources

"Far and away, the greatest threat to the ocean,

and thus to ourselves, is ignorance. But we can do something about that."

Sylvia Earle, oceanographer and explorer

Few things generate a sense of awe and wonder the way that the ocean does. Scientists believe that for every known species that lives in the ocean, there could be at least three more that have not been discovered yet. Not only does the ocean sustain an entire underwater world, but half of the air we breathe is produced by the ocean - it literally gives us life.

Turn Down for Whales was inspired by our love of the sea and a desire to share information about whales and their marine friends. We hope that you use our site as an interactive way to experience the wonder of the ocean and are inspired to take action on behalf of the amazing creatures that live there.
